Default 737 C-40B repaint??

I know this might be laughed at by many since there are a load of payware 737's that are much more popular, and widely painted....

...But I am looking for paints of the USAF C-40 for the default 737-800. I have been able to find a ton for the PMDG and other popular paywares, but none for the default jet. Since I rarely fly tubies, I can't see spending any $$ for something that will be for one variant only....but I can't seem to find any paints for the default 737. So if anyone knows where I can find one, please let me know...

...Or, if any of the skilled painters here would be so kind as to maybe whip something up? :guinness::guinness:

The closest thing I have seen to what you're looking for are Todd Schlappi's P-8 Poseidon repaints for the default 737. There is a regular and a low-viz version.

Do a search over at Avsim or Flightsim in the libraries using his name as the search and they will pop up.

I have had both flying as AI aircraft since he first uploaded them. They look really nice whenever I run into them.

..FAC, thank you for the response....

I already have both of those paints, and they fit the bill nicely as far as Navy stuff is concerned. Hopefully there is a C-40 paint somewhere on some site that someone has seen...If not, I might have to spend some $$$ to get a decent one. I have seen the POSKY model with a C-40 paint, but it has no VC and I am not sure how to alias one into it. My default 737 has been heavily modified with an FMC, upgraded switch functionality, and night textures...all for free. SO, if I can do it without spending money that would be great!

Ok...after a bit more searching, and some luck, I came across a C-40 repaint package for the POSKY 737 BBJ. A few problems...it had no VC, and the model itself wasn't an FSX model. So, I searched some more, and VOILA! I found a pack on flightsim that had the POSKY 737-700 winglet model, and also already had the VC aliased into it.

...So, after much assembling, I have managed to fuse the two models into a genuine C-40! The modification pack to my default 737 Vc also integrated nicely....and now I can actually fly slightly longer flights into USAF and USN installations and feel a bit more....'welcome':medals:

I did a fictional T-43 repaint for the NGX-600.

From what I read on the PMDG forum, after SP2 is done, then they will work on the other variant addons...ie ER, BBJ, C-40..etc

Felix, are you using the updated VC from simviation, that includes the freeware G. Smith basic FMC? Not a big "liner" flyer, but I do love the 737. I have one POSKY model that was originally FS9, also had the FSX VC alias. Do you have a file name for the C-40 paint?

....Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, I am using the updated VC from simviation with the honewell FMC; As for the C-40 file, I simply searched 'C-40' on google, and it led me to simviation once again...but a specific page, where I found the C-40B/C repaint pack. Beware, however, that the model it includes didn't work for me in FSX (the BBJ model). I had to source out a POSKY 737-700 with the VC integrated (which was on flightsim) and then add the paints myself...then integrate the VC mods afterwards. Took an hour or so for everything, but the result was well worth it. I do have an issue with what looks to be an untextured antenna or dome-shaped ACARS or Satlink reciever on the top forward portion of the fuselage...but i can live with it. Hope this helps!

Umm, found the all inclusive pack on Simviation, but couldn't down load due to file size. Got the basepack and then found the USN Combo (cargo door) version pack. Added the stock VC and had issues with the model loading.

Haven't had a go at the USN one yet...used the P-8 paints for the default 737-800...but I am planning on looking into the USN pack today or tomorrow...I will let you know what i find..

Opensky has a very interesting United States Navy P-8A Poseidon, based on the 737-800, here (FS9 models only):
http://www.projectopensky.com/index...9&sort_by=ASC&sort_key=file_name&num=25&st=25 (scroll down for repaints)

Two repaints are available...

If you want it in FSX with the default 737 VC, it possible to use the 737-800 Posky model without winglets (OSX738E.MDL) and build a "clean" version like this... No rockets, no antennas, no bomb door, but native FSX!

But I guess this is the C-40B 737-700 you're talking about... Don't use Simviation for this one (way too slow: 30 minutes!)
Go to the original Posky web site here, and scroll down a bit for the package (donwload time: 6 seconds!)

No problem!

....I also recently came across a fix for the untextured Skyperfect TV antenna on the top of the 737-700; It seems to be a lightmap mod that eliminates the antenna and smoothes out the top of the forward fuselage (in the process eliminating the black, untextured lump I referred to in a previous post).

It is available on the Posky download site...the file you arew looking for is called 'OS736Option2.bmp', and is also included in a few of the model packages.........

I would link it here, but it isn't mine, so I am simply referencing it here for anyone who downloads an FSX-specific 737-700 or 800 that has this anomalous black bubble show up on top of the plane. Now my C-40's look fantastic, and are fully functional. For free! (except for the payware TSS HD FSX soundpack I purchased for them) :guinness:

I thought I would mess around a bit with the POSKY 737, so here's a rendition of a fictional USMC C-40A. The Corps still operates two C-9B's
with VMR-1. Sooner or later (Later if I remember correctly how the Corps works) the C-9s will be parked. I bumped the current Buno from 160046 to 170046 just to keep it simple.
