Des Moines, Iowa-1955

Re:Lee Swordy's scenery

I didn't even think he was still involved in Flight Sim!

:salute:I didn't either, Tom!
Great to hear that he's still into Fs.
His legacy to Fs2004, the AFCAD programme has made him legendary to all.

That piece of scenery certainly looks just what the doctor ordered - think I'll just nip over and download it:running:Drop in there for a couple hours, get a plug change on the Tigercat and see if I can twist Tom Gibson's arm for one of his Dc-6's for a couple of circuits. If you beat me to it, buy you a beer!

Got to hand it to ya Tom, you've certainly got an eye for these little gems!

Best Regards, Nigel

Re:Des Moines (KDSM),

Lee Swordy has posted a 1955 version of the Des Moines (KDSM), Iowa airport. For all of you retro guys, this is a nice stop in Mid-America.

Look for it over at the Calclassic's web site:

http://www.calclassic.com/

What the file description actually reads is:

"This is a scenery file depicting Des Moines Municipal Airport (KDSM), of approximately 1955. This scenery was designed with Google Sketchup, EZ Scenery, and AFCAD by Lee Swordy. Designed by Nikko Yaginuma, Paul Young & Tom Gibson."

Nice piece of scenery however. Pity we didn't hear from Lee Swordy though after all.

Beers still on me though lads!

Cheers, Nigel:salute:

I'm always up for some of CalClassic's retro scenery. Downloading it now.

Ah... Now that things are a little more clear, I'll unstick this and let it fade. It's still nice to hear about such things that are available though!
