"Desperate Battles" has arrived!

Shadow Wolf.

Best laugh I've had in a long time.:icon_lol:

People don't realize all the research, time and efford put into this campaign.

Talon
Talon-san: I know, but I had to make the offer... :wavey: I didn't do it for praise, but rather to help maintain what little sanity I have left and provide something to "the community." Doing this campaign gave me a challenge and something to do that was worthwhile for several months. Both were great stress relievers. Now that my cardiologist has given me a clean bill of health, I can start working out again. :running: That will help in the stress department.

Since late August, my daughter is back with her mom and in school and I'm living alone again. I wish I could do more work like this. Maybe another is in the near future... This latest work has had nearly 100 downloads here at SOH already and another 60 on Simviation. Most of those are from non-members, who cannot post comments. Those of us who contribute have to expect little written praise... that's just the way it is. I can only hope that those who download my and your work will find it fun and interesting.

I apologise for the inconvenience. In fact, I just replaced the previous upload with a new pack containing the revisions and the fix noted in post #40.

Be careful - those Emily gunners are crack shots.

Congratulations Shadow Wolf on your latest campaign. I've started flying the missions concurrently with at least five other campaigns of yours - they're all wonderful.

I particularly like your research with attention to historical detail.

If you're bored already, there's always the Aleutians - we've got the scenery, we just need the missions.

Keep up the good work!

Kevin

Thanks Kdriver: I'm currently working on the Emily dp, using the modified Betty dp [Gunstations] as a guide. I don't really know what I'm doing, but with trial and error I hope to get somewhere. :running: Any help from someone knowledgeable would be appreciated.

FYI Talon is currently working on the Aleutians...

Also: I'm flying the campaign again... this time for fun, not for work :)

Got it.

I must have fallen asleep for about 24 hrs. How is it I missed this until now. Can't wait to load it up and take it around the block. Many thanks SW.

Divebombing video

My wingman and I were on a scout mission, looking for the Japanese carrier force. We found it, reported its position and swooped in for an attack before the CAP found us. The "in-flight" new goal came up to damage the CV Shokaku. I dropped my bomb and scored a hit (according to the Stats at the end of mission briefing) and my wingman followed and scored another. Here is a 5 minute video of our attack:

We got back and landed safe. :applause:

Realy nice video thanks for sharing. I'm hoping to be able to free up some time again to get back into the fight. After all of these years I still enjoy this sim.

HI SW,

Try this DP the gunners now need glasses.

Bless you B-24 Guy! Dirtman sent me a link to a site with instructions on how to modify dps, but this saves me a lot of study and work. :applause:

I hate to be the one to beat my own drum but I am really enjoying flying this one. I just finished the Eastern Solomons portion and am starting Santa Cruz. The changes I made in the trial campaign flight seem to have fixed the problems noted and the Japanese are a bit tougher as I desired. In all I've lost 5 wingmen so far...

I just flew the Santa Cruz strike mission, launched from the Hornet in a TBF-1. It was cool watching the divebombers coming in one behind the other to hit my target carrier. They sank her before I launched my torpedo and I aborted my run, recalled my wingmen. We then attacked the other CV, damaging her. Pulling away, I was surprised to see one of my wingmen engage and shoot down a Zero with his Avenger! :applause:

I drew an Avenger again for my next mission - the Enerprise's strike.

The next mission, I missed but...
