Deuce..

i´m absolutely going for the SEA camo, my wife is already working on one...now she read about the shot down deuce on a b-52 escort duty, does anybody knows the marking, BuNo´s (dunno if that´s how the USAF call t) ect..we at RAZBAM treat our creations(even as the total mesh is a MilViz creation, but going thru RAZBAM for FSX use) as a homage to those that fought and/or die in them, and she would like to include that particular aircraft in the package.
There will be a paint kit included, these birds have virtually a hundred of colorfull schemes (found a page with 97!! all different, not counting the "Tub"´s)so it´s not logical to include them all (besides, doig new schemes is part of the fun!)
Best regards

Regarding the F-102 that was shot down. This is from Wings of Fame, vol 17, page 67

The sole F-102A lost in air combat fell victim to the extraordinary success of the MiG-21 'Fishbed' fighter which in 1967 and 1968 was prevailing against American fighters over North Vietnam with a success ratio of almost 4 to 1, at the very time American pilots were batting MiG-17 'Fresco' fughters out of the air like flies. On 3 February 1968 Captain Allen Lomax and 1st Lieutenant Wallace Wiggins of the 509th FIS were launched to escort a flight of jamming aircraft over Laos. When the jammers failed to show as scheduled, Lomax and Wiggins fell into a trap. Apparently they did not know they were being intercepted and ambushed by MiG-21F-13 "Fishbed-E' fighters until Wiggins radioed "There's something wrong with my aircraft." That was when an AA-2 'Atoll" missle hit him, failed to detonate, but kinetically ripped his Delta Dagger (56-1166) to pieces....Wiggins apparently did not manage to eject.

That F-102 kill reminds me of the time I've tried out a MiG-21 in Strike Fighters. It was a fictional cuban campaign and I had to go up against F-106s (aka "Dagger on steroids") coming in from Florida. I easily managed to score two or three kills.

I wonder if the F-102, lacking a cannon, could've held its ground against fighters at all...

F102 looks great. Though F106- there's already one out for FS9 and FSX. Why crowd the market with 106's when there's not an F-100 yet!

There is indeed an F-100.
Look under 'Donationware' above.

It's an FS9 model - but it will port.

I'm aware of it- I own it- and it's not for FSX. It's for FS9 whether it ports or not.

Therefore it still stands ;) There's no F-100 for FSX. There is an [FSX native] F106 for FSX and FS9. There will soon be an F102 by the looks of it- so to get back on track (sorry), looking forward to seeing the VC. :ernae:

They have this one parked at March AFB in So-Cal last time I visited the museum there.

There is a D model in progress but it'll probably be usurped by Milviz recent leaked slip of tongue
Er... just to be clear... that's not F-111, it's F-22... (sorry... Iris is doing our F-111).... and the F-100D... forgot about that one!

kc.
that their doing one....I'm not as deft a mesh modeller as I used to be, things just seem to whizz pass me quicker and quicker as time goes on :).

Don't let your F-100 go to waste just because Milviz is doing one. You could make it into an AI bird so we can fill our squadron ramps without bringing our rigs to a grinding halt.

The F-102 will be nice to have.

Bone, well not to drag this OT much further LOL, the Hun is in 'talks' right now, it'll need its own thread in due course I'm sure.

Now back to the deuce :).

Best
