Dino's F-35 now at SimMarket (payware)

Great Work

Dino,

I grabbed this the other night, and you have broken me... Broken me that is to finally have a good long read of the Manual! I am terrible at not normally doing that!

I have to say what a fantastic piece of work, I hope that the revenue allows you to recover invested money to create this fine add on, I know from experience that all those hours will never come back!

I am not normally a new fast jet / glass cockpit kind of guy, but I have been following the development of the F35 both real and yours for some time as being a big Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm fan I have to keep an eye on our future.

Congrats to you for a model that creates one of those "rediscovering the sim" moments, learning to fly in normal flight then transitioning to SVTOL and VTOL is a challenge but a very fun one at that and really makes me want to race home and start up FSX right away.

All the best,

Sketchy

Hello dear Dino :salute:

WOW great news, I really love your addon.
One must for FSX, once again congratulation for your creation :medals:

@Skulleader

Thanks - I do understand you request, which is indeed a common request by several users. Yesterday night I tried (again)...and it looks bad. Definitely not on par with the rest of models....

So, what I will do, most probably, is leave it out of the "official" package, but provide it as "unofficial" patch through my blog.

Well the F-35B has a clean config...what's different with the wings, texture wise??

Cheers,
Hank

I'm glad you guys are having fun with the F-35!

@Sketchy
I am happy to know that my F-35 rendition is so appreciated. Yet, its avionics have just a small fraction of the capabilities of the real F-35 - which, in my opinion, is an incredible piece of engineering.

@hae5904
Well, texture wise they are similar - problem is not the textures, but the polygons.
F-35C model started from a commercial low-poly mesh which I abandoned (it had many flaws that were impossible to fix), but I took the wings and the control surfaces and merged it with my F-35A model. While on the top surfaces the merging looks good, on the lower surfaces it does not. Tangent surfaces look bad, the bleding in noth smooth and there are discontinuous mapping coordinates. The fuel tanks mask those defects effectively - this is why they are there.

Dino has released a full new updated pack that includes the clean "C" variant. He stated it should be at sim market soon.

He has also posted a "Blank" basic texture (no markings) at his web site for anyone who wishes to make it with their own or expected users markings.

Now, we have a repaint kit. For repainters :

Israel version (planned in 2017, maybe early).

Great stuff Dino. I am only missing a way to adjust light intensity in the panel as well as the hud. Bit difficult to fly at night.

If I ever lash out and spend the 60 odd bucks to get acceleration I am most definaitly getting this, it looks awsome
