Dino's F14 VF111 "Miss Molly"

Lol Daniel, if you guys give me some time I'm pretty sure I can do most of those, once you figure out where to paint its not that hard . I would like to say thanks to the other repainters who have already painted Dino'v2 bird, those guys are the ones that figured out where all the lines are to paint, I just painted over thier lines. If not for them I would have never done the miss Molly scheme so thanks guys.

Just Uploaded Miss Molly VF111 scheme for Dino's F14D V2 model, Enjoy. The readme file is in the Zip file :salute:

Nice work!! Those calibration markings must have been no small chore ... great attention to detail!

The only think I'm picking up is the vertical tail fillets/root extensions are also painted orange - as shown here:

http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-detail-clusterbombs-01.htm

Granted, that's BuNo 204, withouth the calibration markings, in stead of the 231 you painted - but I believe the tails were ths same on all the birds with orange tails ... Again, just a minor nit in the grand scheme of things. And as to the position of each calibration mark - if any one happens to be off, and anyone picks it up - they have too much time on their hands!! LOL :)

Yea Daniel, I will try the only thing is that the BMP files that Dino provided are on some paints one sided. What I mean by that is both sides of the tailfins are different but to paint them with the paint kit I made it will only show on one side and then I have to kinda trial and error for the other side to get them to match. Hope this makes sense. Its all good, Im just having fun getting back in the mode for painting, it gets kinda mundane, so I thinking I can do some more repaints of Dino's F14 and then Ill take a break again .

No worries! I think I miscommunicated - I think you're referring to the inside facing sides of the tail fins - which I totally get might be a problem.

I was referring to the root extension - the long angled bit that connects the fin itself to the rear fuselage - that little skinny bit was orange too. But again - small beans in the grand scheme of things.

Love the work you're doing - they're all gems!

Apologies for the lack of paintkit...

@flewpastu (and other repainters)

Just a quick apology for the lack of a paintkit... I am sorry this makes my model difficult to paint. Fact is that I am computer graphic dinosaur who cut his teeth with Deluxe Paint on the Amiga - and I never get used to work with layers and everything.
This is not a problem for me while modeling (as I can see the changes directly in the modeling tools), but I know it makes your job more difficult.
And I cannot promise things will change in future... So, sorry and thank you for all your work!

That being said, once they are ready and available, I would be interested in adding the non-fictional liveries to the base package...

Dino, please forgive me I was not really complaining per se, the paint kit is a challange but that also makes it more rewardable. Thank you very much for this great plane, I am enjoying painting and flying this aircraft for sure.I can't wait for your next project. Thank you again for your hard work.

Respectfully

Well,

it was just a general apology - I have received a lot of feedback on the lack of paintkit.
Fact is that I have so little time for FSX that it is hard to allocate some of it in "updating" my painting skills - I know it would be useful...but it is either that or working on new projects :)

And then again, even without paintkits, I've seem some really good schemes on my planes :)

Anyway, I am looking forward to new repaints - and if it is OK for you, I may want to add them to the base package.

Aside - please be aware that my friend Jiri Soukup has created two additional, unreleased liveries:
- High Vis VF-2 "The Cat is Back" 25th Tomcat anniversary
- Lo-vis VF-31

Not trying to keep the thread alive, Just wanted to let those know that are interested Ill be uploading these 3 repaints later today, these were requests by SOH members. :salute:

I also will upload a fix for the VF111 for the tailfins, Added a little white to the leading edge of the tailfins that I left out. I found some additional pics and noticed the error
