Displaying Zoom Level

On my system, both in FSX and FS9, anytime you hit the + or - signs, the zoom level displays.
Well, that's kinda how I remembered it too Milton, but for some reason (probably something I did), it no longer shows up. I looked through the FSX.cfg file to see if it was one of the "info" parameters that I might have changed to "false" for some reason, but it doesn't look like it's anywhere in there. I also checked the "Cameras" file to see if it was there, but nothing that really stands out. I'll keep looking. Thanks :salute:

I'd be willing to be you've got the HideInfoText=1 line in your [Main] section. If so, that will be the culprit.
Edit: In FS9, the zoom level only displays in the 2D and VC views. It doesn't show in Tower or Spot.

Tom, I really thought you were onto something there. I went through the cfg file and that line was not present, I added it and restarted the sim, but to no avail. I'll keep "Googling" and maybe I can come up with a solution. Thanks for the help though! :salute:

Same thing happened to me a while back,so I changed keyboard commands back to default in game now +&- works as it should.

Adding that line will definitely keep the messages from showing even if you do find the underlying problem. You can either comment the line out ("//"), or change the 1 to 0.

It might be a good idea to move the fs9.cfg out to your desktop and restart the Sim. If the problem is fixed with that, at least you know you're closer. Also check ot see if your language.dll has been replaced. The Date Modified should be 12 June 2003.

Yep, that's what I did, I added the line but replaced the 1 with a "0". Even with that it didn't display. I even considered that since I use two monitors (Wide-View) that the Zoom-Level display might actually be there, just outside the edge of the viewing area, or even displaying on the opposite screen somehow, lol. . .both of those ideas were discounted though. I did also move my FSX.cfg out of the folder and allow FSX to build a new cfg file, but even after that, the Zoom_Level wasn't part of the new cfg file either.:salute:

In that case, the language.dll would be my last guess, but since you're talking FSX, I can't tell you what the conrrect date stamp should be.

I did look into the Language.dll and as you say, since this is FSX related, the dates are different and this one could have been altered in some way. Oh well, I've done without it all this time, I guess I don't really need it. Thanks for everyone's assistance. Merry Christmas!!
