Do335

as far as I know there was another thread about the 335 a few month ago. I have the link to the correct canopy from there... Can't remember where I've found it "argh" Was it from CFS2 ???

Well Terry, I was doing pretty well until I tried moving the lights fore and aft. I was using small increments at first and that didn't seem to be working, so I went with ridiculously large movements and it made no difference. It seems that no matter what I change the numbers to, the lights will not move fwd or backwards. I'm speaking of the Nav lights here, I was able to make minor adjustments to the landing lights in the fore and aft movement and those worked fine.

Your referring to these two? light.0= 3, -3.84, -22.23, 0.45, fx_navred ,
light.1= 3, -3.84, 22.23, 0.45, fx_navgre ,

-3.84 is a negative so it needs to be reduced to go forward. Other than that you are saving the config file and reloading the aircraft with each change, right?

Yep, and if you look at the light section I posted above, that's what I'm working with and it's actually the lower section of Nav lights that are moving, not the top. The ones that have "h" at the end. No amount of change in any of the numbers at the top makes any difference in where the two nav lights sit, so I'm working only with the bottom NAV references. Up and down works, left and right works, but fwd and aft. . .nothing.:salute:

Ed

One thing that I noticed that is way wrong is this line:

light.5= 4, 1.02, 0.24, 2.53, fx_vclight ,[LIGHTS]

The [Lights] call at the end of the line may well be throwing your entire Lights set up out of wack. Delete the [Lights] from the end of the line to make it look like this:light.5= 4, 1.02, 0.24, 2.53, fx_vclight ,
OBIO

Yea, I noticed that right away OBIO and I did delete that before I started trying to move the Nav lights. Any idea why there are two sets of Nav and Beacon entries? :salute:

I'm using the Do-335 that came in the Mega pack...the FS9 and CFS2 package. I have checked out the Final Version that is on SImviation, but like the model in the Mega Package better. I will take a look at the lights in ACM and see what is up with them.

OBIO

Here's the Lights section from my 335's config:

[lights]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3, -4.21, -22.41, 0.38, fx_shockwave_navred
light.1 = 3, -3.84, 22.29, 0.45, fx_shockwave_navgre
light.2 = 3, -24.37, 0, 8.17, fx_shockwave_navwhi
light.3 = 1, -24.84, 0, 8.27, fx_shockwave_beacon_rotating_red
light.4 = 1, -24.57, 0, -5.03, fx_shockwave_beacon_fastflash_lowl
light.5 = 4, 1.01, 0, 2.52, fx_shockwave_vclight
light.6 = 5, -0.85, -13.65, -0.23, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow
light.7 = 5, -0.88, -14.08, -0.20, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow

two seater 335 for FS9 sounds good to me . i'd definitely use that plane :applause:

There is a two seater for FS9 available, courtesy of Itosan (who else); to options available, a 335A-6 night fighter and a 335A-12 trainer. Usual caveats apply re. the FDE, but this one has proved to be a little easier to tame than; I've still got a couple of adjustments that I'd like to make, but I'm happy to post the finished version here if anybody wants to try it. The model itself can be found at Flightsim, as can a veeeery nice replacement panel; replacement sounds can be found here, at the Outhouse - from memory it's a Lawdog set tweaked by Obio, should be fairly easy to find.

Another option is block out // all but lines 0,1,2 and get them correct, then proceed on.

OK, anybody up for giving this a test? I think I've got it close to spec (using the Simtech FDE as a base, and tweaking as needed - but the FDE won't open in AirWrench, so I've had to use a little brute force!!), but would appreciate some other opinions. If anybody wants to give this a try, please drop me a PM; I'll package it up in the morning with a proper Read Me, which will include links to all needed files.

That process works perfectly. It's definitely a trial and error system, but it does the trick. I'm not sure why there were so many duplicate entries, but everything above the VC entries was useless, I commented all that out, along with the last entry for a white strobe. Everything else is positioned as close as I can possibly get it and much better than when I started. Thanks for the assist!!!:salute:
