"Does a Former Drill Sergeant Make a Terrible Therapist?" - R Lee Ermey

This Geico ad with "The Gunny" just replaced the "10lb Bag of Flour" one as my favorite commercial... :icon_lol:

Yep, that's funny.

I like the Abe Lincoln one better though.

Poor Abe! LOL! :bump:

They're comming up with some pretty good commercials - both the above are really creative and funny. "bout time something was entertaining on TV. . .

:running:

Was the "10lb Bag of Flour" commercial funny just for its complete randomness? In the same way that a "Does a 500lb box of explosives make a really big hole in the ground?" commercial would?

Or is there a saying or something that it relates to that I am unaware of?

i'm kinda fond of this one...

Speaking of the 10 pound bag of flour biscuit ... you just know some idiot had to try it ...

Wouldn't you know he'd be from West Virginia ...

Randomness, the kid humming while buttering it, his mother's reaction.
The subtleness of it...

Unlike the R Lee Ermey one. :icon_lol:

Or my other close favorite Geico ad, the Charlie Daniels one.
"That's how you do it, son"

I'm not too fond of that one as it's far too insulting to all concert violinists who's talents make Charlie Daniels look like a backcountry bumpkin...

...oh wait!

Charlie Daniels IS a backcountry bumpkin! :d

I do love his 'fiddling' though... :)

I have to hand it to Geico's ad agency. They keep coming up with some of the most entertaining and original commercials on television. I have always been of the view that ads that seem to deliberately try to annoy the audience are really ineffective.

I think the best ads entertain through humor while also tagging a message.

Also, I love R. Lee. The man has fashioned an enviable career for himself.
