Doing my SLUF research at NAS Pensacola museum...

Diego,

The Master Chief is making and sending me a DVD with pictures of ALL the aircraft at the museum. Not only the ones on display, but the ones currently in restoration. That will be a disc to keep!!!!

Paul,

I am envious of the A-7 history book. But the price quickly made me shy away from that one!!!

However, I may be pinging you for information from it!!!

Oh, another note. One A-7 BUNO that will end up on a RAZBAM Corsair II is:

152650

The first time I had dealings with this particular A-7, was when I worked on it at Patuxent River, MD. I got out of the Navy for 4 1/2 years in 1976. Came back on active duty in 1980, and got assigned to VA-15 at NAS Cecil Field, FL. Years after I had reported onboard, I noticed the BUNO of the aircraft on display at Cecil's front gate, and recognized it as one of the Corsairs from my time at Pax River.

Additionally, that Corsair II was the very first A-7 to launch & trap from a carrier....

Yep. 152650 is on a pedestal at the Don Garlits Racing Museum.

But ALL USN aircraft, regardless of location, are OWNED by the Naval Aviation Museum, here at NAS Pensacola......

NC, wish I'd have thought about it before you left, but did you get a pic of the USS Lexington's old C-1 Trader? I got a ride in it once when I won a shipwide Navy Relief raffle. Last time I was there at the museum, it was in the aircraft parked outside.

Willy, I didn't. However, all is not lost. I should be receiving in the mail this week, a dvd with pictures of ALL the aircraft on display at the museum; both inside and outside. When I do, I will check for that aircraft picture, and send it to you.

Is this maybe your C-1 ? She has BuNo 136754; I took this picture outside of the museum back in 1994.

cheers, Henk
