Dombral layouts for Pearl Harbor released!

I have Lindsay Watts P 40 Models.

Can i upload the Plane here?

ElsnerMarkus,

trust me, Captain Kurt's proposal to replace LW's P-40 models with Bruce Thorson's P-40B/C is an excellent choice.

Besides of being accurately modelled and finely tuned up by one of our finest flight model technicians, our good Bearcat241, Bruce's Tomahawk is a multi-res model, derived from a fine FS9 model and specifically built for an efficient usage in CFS2.
You can also find plenty of strictly historical repaints for Bruce Thorson's P-40B/C, including "White 316 " and "White 160" of 47th P.S., 15th P.G., based at Haleiwa, respectively flown by Ltnt. Taylor and Ltnt. Welch on 12/07/1941. By RobH here:

If my memory serves me right, LW's P-40s aren't multi-resolution.

I guess that will be a weekend project then. Bruce Thorson's P-40 Hawks are a very good model and as Kelti notes, RobH did some very nice appropriate textures for them.

IMHO, LW's P-40s weren't all that accurate anyway having a strange rudder animation, but at the time were a good choice. Since there were only a couple of them airborne at Pearl Harbor the LOD issue was not a problem with the LW.

But the relative merits are all moot points though, since you can't download the LW model anymore.

PHP

Kelti and others:

First, thanks for the ship add-ons. Possibly Rami could add them to the PHP scenery

Second, Replacing LW's P-40 models with Bruce Thorson's P-40B/C
I have two applications of PHP, one with LW's P-40, and another with Bruce Thorson's P-40B/C. They both work great, although I favor Bruce's P-40B. However, the pilot in this model leaves much to be desired, so I replaced it with LW.s P40 pilot. It works and looks great! If anyone is interested I have the modified DP. There is a F1 P-40c that Kelti worked on that fired all guns at once. I like this because I forget to use my 50's in the heat of combat. Could this be added to Bruce's P-40B?

Thank you for the compliment guys.

When Al released his PHP missions I asked him if it was OK for me to make the rest of the missions flown that day, i.e. the American missions, to complete the set. Al gave me the OK and provided some suggestions.

The issue today for anyone who downloads Al's or my missions is that they use the Lindsey Watt P-40 which isn't available any longer. I should update my missions to use the Bruce Thorson P-40B -- which is not only available but is also a good model. I wish I could update Al's one P-40 mission in PHP but I can't ask his permission. I sure wish I could. So it will have to be up to the individual to replace the P-40 in Al's mission if they want to do that.

Captain Kurt,

Al actually did update the P-40 mission with the Bruce Thorson P-40c but never got the chance to upload it.When Hiede was in NJ she gave me some of the DVDs of his work in the Pacific, The Pearl P-40 missions he redid are in it.Also alot of the things he uploaded are different then what are in his personal games. there are also some uncompleted campaigns in Korea ( Chinese intervention and Sabers over Korea ) and NG ( Beaufighter campaign ).

I have a ask for Dombrals layouts.

I Copy and Past this in the Main CFS 2 directory after i had installed the Updated PHP Project Files. But i dont See the Oil Route to the BB#s or the Planes on Hickam or Ford Island NAS..... What is my mistake?

Mack,
At the risk of sounding really dumb, how do I open the .rar file?
Thanks,
Bob

Quite a while back I downloaded and installed 7-Zip to open Mortons files. I have found that it also works for opening "rar" files.

Sorry Fellows

On the P40B Pilot I use Zip File, which is free. I am also having trouble with Hog_Islander in the PHB file. I have downloaded Wolfi's version. Is there another?

I've been using 7zip for 4-5 years now, I can't think of any compressed format file that it wouldn't open.
