What would ya do if ya had a video card that carries a life time replacement warranty but the company feeds ya a line of BS to get out of replacing the bad card. In 2006 I brought that 8800GTX for a tad bit over 600.00. Well when I did this rebuild the card went to video haven. I had already planed on replacing it anyway cause it has served me well. Well because of the type business I am in I always file the necessary warranty paper work. Anyway while I was over at Guru3d forum I noticed a thread about the Evga warranty where a member said they wouldn't honor the lifetime warranty because they found the blower had dust and some blockage in the air flow. I said damn Mike, I think that top dog card has a life time warranty too. I looked up and found sure enough it did. I said what the heck, I went to there site and pulled up my account but it wasn't listed. I know I had filed it so I called Evga up and after being on hold for thirty minutes a CS employee started helping me. He said the serial number was assigned to someone else. There ain't no way. BTW I also emailed them the invoice from 06 where I had brought it from Newegg. Well all of a sudden I got disconnected. I waited for a while to see if they would return the call but that never happened. Again I called and yeah again I was on hold .....but this time it was only 27 minutes. After explaining again what was going on that employee said I needed to talk to someone in level 2 support. So again I am on hold for another 45 minutes. BTW...I started this at 4:00pm EST. at 6:15pm EST the level 2 tech gets on the phone and does some research and says he found the four other cards that DON'T carry a lifetime warranty but the one that does carry a Lifetime warranty they can't find where I filed it. I asked the guy well what do we do now. His response was yup you guessed it.....I is chet out of luck because if I didn't file it I only had a one year warranty. What I really don't understand they should be going by that serial number and the purchase ticket only. What did they think I got it out of somebodies trash can. Well the Evga card I ordered Thursday came in today. I am thinking of RMAing it because this one cost me 658.00 and if there is no warranty why bother to keep it. I hear the BFG warranty is better and they also honor there products. I hate to do this to Newegg because I have spent well over 25 grand with them and they have always been great to deal with. Even when there warranty has expired they still take care of the customer first. Would you guys spend this kind of money on a piece of hardware with no warranty?I am thinking of shipping it back because of this. Newegg has already said they will give me a full refund.
