Last night, I took a few flights and my performance was as smooth as silk with great load times. Everything working as it should. Then, I noticed there was a Windows 11 update waiting, so I clicked to update and shut down. This morning, when I booted up, the sim is unplayable. Load times of 6-7 minutes. 40 seconds or more to load a plane in the hanger, 2-3 minutes to load a flight, and the flights are a complete stutterfest with terrrible graphics. I takes a couple of minutes to end a flight and up to 3 minutes to exit to desktop. I have the latest Nvidia drivers and the latest DLSS. I have checked without my community folder with the same results. All my peripherals are up to date.
I had created a restore point a couple of days ago, but when I try to restore, it fails (even with my antivirus software shut off). I can't roll back the update, so now I'm stuck.
My advice: DON'T install cumulative update KB5037853. It was built by incompetents.

maybe update your graphics drivers too? I have that update installed, I have no problems whatsoever.

Cheers (and good luck),

Thanks, but my graphics drivers are updated, too. Maybe I got a corrupt install of the update. That's the only thing that changed on my PC between MSFS working great and MSFS not really working at all. I'll try to install the repair version when I have time tomorrow.
Glad you're not having the same issues as I am.

Well, something is going on with the Cumulative Update Preview and MSFS. I have AMD. I was getting a steady 60 fps. After the Update, it's a steady 25 fps. No stuttering, but definitely slowed my sim down. Hope MS fixes it in the Cumulative Update to follow.

I have the latest Windows 11 update with all the latest driver updates and SU15 and no decrease in performance once the sim has started.
But it does seem to take longer to get past the „checking for update“ screen.

Cheers
Sunny
