Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated Tom Clayton has offered to post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

I'll just twiddle thumbs and hang out for yours...;)

Meanwhile I've found a few other paints to do...;)

fun part comes as i've still to do the English and German markings (including that 'Q' for Quality passed sticker (or as an ex-East German Army friend of mine said "Vague amounts of Quality is there"! ))

The east german paints are going to be a bit of a pickle, because they only had the -ZA (four hardpoints, gunsight, structural differences) and -V (target tug). The latter version is quite intriguing to model, but ugh....so...many...necessary...changes. :(

old style (white outline roundels) markings done for the Czech variant, all fuselage decals on along with wing decals.... now.... back to finishing the VVS one for the Commissar!

Salz mines?! Ve only have V2 mines!

(Okay, that's getting too dark now...better stop right here.)

i'll admit to having a dark humour level so that made me laugh!

just finishing the BBC (Sorry.... VVS, BBC means 'Военно-воздушные cилы' and is technically the 'correct' title) decals now.... just wing upper and lowers to do then i'm going to get going on the English :jump:

Hi Guys,

I've just installed the L39, and it looks very good.

The model is looking for a texture called DDS (no extension) - is it OK use a dummy texture instead?

Cheers

Found a bit of 'legit' 'nose-art' [though it's on the fin]...and where I'm at with other text/details ...;)

Sounds like a dodgy download.. and something's 'missing', though there shouldn't be an error-call for a 'dds'...that's a file suffix.
Meanwhile, I think I'm happy with the metal...alphas and spec. Can't find [as yet] some clean 'albatros' text for the tip tanks [or its font], and am still hanging out for Matt's notes details. Then I'll be able to churn out some hi-res paints..;)

Finally got around to trying the update. Great job Bjoern! A fantastic update to a classic FS2004 design. Many thanks!!! :applause:
