Yep, got that...and noticed I'd forgotten the star near the top of the Q...so fixed.
I'll do a bit of a general search on East German aircraft and see if I can make sense of the arrows.....but pretty sure they won't say 'do not touch'...;)
 
Bjoern...I went with 'Vordach Bedecken' as there appears to be 2 lines...;)

Hopefully that doesn't actually translate as 'your hovercraft is full of jellied eels'.

Meanwhile...Viper's one is coming...slowly...at least the underside is done. Looks like the top of the wings will be a pain too...;)

That sounds awful. Make it "NOTÖFFNUNG KABINE" or so.

OK...changed it to "NOTÖFFNUNG KABINE" .... now if that incites werewolves to attack me in my sleep then you're to blame...;)

My German eddikayshun dates back to 1970... in high school at the age of 16...;)
 
OK....the fuse is 'done' [apart from the fade of the red stripes towards the tail].....just the top of the wings....much of which I'll have to guess/approximate...;)

It takes ages just finding a font....like the 'L-139' on the tail....that's 'Liberal', BTW.
 
Jafo, you're obviously a very prolific, as well as exceptionally good painter. Would you have any interest in doing a Frecce Tricolori paint?
 
Viper....I do it for fun [as all skinning should be done]...some of which is a challenge...either/and with complexity/lack of detail info....like these wings. The bottom was almost easier...the top has little documentation.

Bone....thanks for the vote of confidence....you'll need to post some pics/links so I know what to look at/for...;)
 
I had to skew...perspective...resize...deform just to work out what the wing image was...then blow it up a tad...but with a little more cleanup to do....this is how it painted.
Whether or not it's 100% accurate is anyone's guess....I suppose if I can pose it like the original photo and it's passable then that'll do...;)

N1390A is done. I put in a few of Matt's notes to add detail [poetic license]....looks like they weren't reapplied after the paint....;)

By the way: The c/n of "170" is V-630705. Known as "28+48" in the Luftwaffe. Was used from june '81 in the LSK and had at least 1018 hours of mandatory flying time on september 30th 1990.
