Dreamlifter has a bad dream

A Boeing Dreamlifter - the big, fat, ugly 747 parts-hauling freighter had a hydraulic failure yesterday (March 12) after departing KPAE for Japan - no drama, no damage, no danger, but some educational moments...

[SIZE=-1]It was N718BA, declared an emergency shortly after takeoff from KPAE loss of the number one hydraulic system.

I fly the Dreamlifter on occasion, sounds as if they lost #1 hydraulic system. Not really much of an emergency, have had this happen before heading down to South America in a 400F. Main thing is no nose gear and body gear steering so you can't really steer once on the ground at low speed.

Cheers: T

Does the Dreamlifter differ much from a standard 747 in terms of handling and performance? IIRC a kiwi flys one of the Dreamlifter.
