Duct tape field repairs
Bear attack 2009
Apparently a bear attacked his plane while parked in a remote field in AK. He had not cleaned out the inside after a long fishing trip and the bear smelled it. He had 2 new tires, 3 cases of Duct Tape and several rolls of cellophane delivered. Then went about repairing the plane so he could fly it home.

Man, I've always known that duct tape was something everyone should keep on hand, but this takes the prize for ingenuity! :medals:

Duct tape field repairs?

Hurry QUICK!! Head to Foxboro ... The Patriots need some major repair work here at half time already.

Duct tape is the only thing that'll probably save em.

:kilroy:

(Sorry didn't mean to hijack this thread, but we already did the bear vs plane thing about a week ago.)

Amazing how duct tape can be used for so many different things. This one though is the best yet, lol.. Skinning a plane.

I think I would have made a second coat of covering that went horizontal though, as the tape tends to lift at the edge in high wind. Having it horizontal will lessen that from happening. (So if you ever need to cover your plane this way, now you know, lol).

Ingenious effort.

The thing I loved the best about that small field repair job was the way it was done. Bush flying at it's best. No FAA A&P inspector. No forms to fill out.

He use is skills and ingenuity, along with some visqueen and a case of duct tape and then he flew that baby out. That is flying at its best.

Anyone ever see that Canadian show on PBS that has something to do with duct tape? Every episode has something to do with that tape and also making some sort of odd contraption.

Hilarious....

It's called the Red Green show, and yes it is hilarious. The movie is even funnier. Without giving anything away, picture a van pulling a giant sculpture of a Canadian Goose made from duct tape and run with that. LOLOL!
