Dumb Question Redux

While FS9 is running, what mode does alt + enter bring up? The menu bar is at the top. I've never used it before, so I'm curious. Also, when in that 'mode', is it my imagination or does it really suck up RAM? I also notice FRAPS are much better, but more jaggies.

Thanks,

Bob

That switches from windowed mode to full screen. Some systems run better windowed and some are better full screen.

In full screen, the menu bar is hidden until you hit the Alt button. You can also do that in windowed mode with a right click and selection of the bottom option to "Hide Menu Bar." It updates an option in the fs9.cfg so it's permanent until you choose otherwise.

Thank you, Stefan and Tom, for the help. I have but 1 GB of RAM, usually enough for a 45 minute flight, but in windowed mode, RamBooster kicks in after about 10 minutes, meaning that RAM is down to 5%.

I've been putting off a major upgrade because it'll be a pain in the arse, but with FS9 performing so poorly, I'm left with little choice.

Hi,

kicks in after about 10 minutes, meaning that RAM is down to 5%.
Something bad with your FS2004 installation..
Before running FS2004 with 2GB RAM .. I runned it for years with 1 GB RAM and never had a low memory alert....
If your FS2004 install have a memory leak .. you can add many RAM as you want .. you will run in the same problem ... but not on the same timing :)
