Dune Film Update

Is there any way to fly in the DUNE scenario without being on a mission?

On the avsim forums, I think I have seen somebody mentioning the GPS coordinates of the Dune scenery, which is somewhere in the middle of Africa ? I haven't checked if it's correct or not.

The rocks are there but not the sand I think.

Penty of dune fields in Namibia for free flying.

I just went for the middle of the Sahara

There's now an add-on that adds a runway
Oh! Cool, thanks for the pointer.

Trapped as one is inside the Insect Sim, you may as well do all the Challenges, eh?
I thought I'd really cracked it with my best of 2 and a half minutes, then I saw the scoreboard Top Ten at under a minute.
Is this meant to enslave you I wonder :)

(Doesn't have the sand effects, though.)

Its quite straight forward to add Dune sand effects. All it needs is to save a flight in the Dune area (actually you can add sand anywhere in the world! See the linked video), a quick edit of the FLT file to add a config line of text, save then load that FLT file. Sand as far as the eye can see!

The linked video shows an english summary of the instructions in the description (video is in Italian). It also lists the coordinates of all of the Dune missions/scanarios/tutorials.
