Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations is proud to present the Enstrom 280FX helicopter

yes - 1024x is considered light by FSX standards....

These 5 VC textures bitmaps are the very small all white background squares in the panel, behind the gauges, so no need for 1024x1024 textures here, really, I'm even sure 128x128 should be enough!

Now i can fly this wonderful Enstrom everywhere with the same FPS as the default R22... Thanks and bravo to Euroastar350 and Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations!!!

useless texture in VC eating away 10fps!

...well - something is causing it, but I'm hanged if I know what it is

News update: in the panel.cfg file, remove the line "texture=$VC_Main_3" in the virtual cockpit section... this is the texture behind the "whiskey" compass... ok you lose the compass by doing this, but this little line was eating away almost 10fps for me! it's a good trade-off...

so maybe no need to scale down theses 1024x1024 texture bitmaps... but those 2 tricks can help...

happy flying!

Yes!! That just gave me an extra 10 (much needed) fps. Thank you for discovering and sharing that info with us.:salute:

It's a good trade only because we have that nice little GPS on the vc, or else we wouldn't know where we're going. :icon_lol: It wasn't unplayable before, but it is smoother now.
I'll thank you with a nice screenshot! :ernae:

Interesting that i got ZERO drop in fps with the original package ... It´s perfect in here. Tested looking to all angles inside the vc, up, down, left, right, outside, etc ... Go figure!

One thing I'd really like to see in an update is reflective glass in the VC. For instance, I like the versions will no doors, but there is no visible difference looking out of the open door and through of the pexiglass.
