Eaglesofts's DA42 Twinstar

Just a question I've been wondering about... The plane has diesel engines? FSX doesn't have a fueling trigger at airports for diesel. So does it use Jet-A or have really, really big tanks?

Most aerospace diesel engines, ground and air, use jet fuel. JP-5 and JP-8 work best.

and go look at abacus and you WILL find a DA42
so i got the name of this wrong ...who really cares...point is..i asked a simple question...it cant be answered civily?

lol?

There was nothing in my post negative... unless you consider confusion negative....

I see nothing negative in his answer, if a company name is wrong (Aerosoft), then it is easy to get confused as I was. Can we all take a deep breath and keep the thread on track?

There is practically little difference between the diesel at your local gas station vice the JP-8 and/or Jet-A at the airport.

Uggh ...

With respect, I think it was answered civily -- very much so.

It was a reply to you based upon honest confusion.

I will buy the one with Lycoming or Austro engines.

Er, the Austro engines ARE `diesel` mate. The Lycomings are primarily sold in the USA and were introduced after the failure of Thielert, the original engine supplier.

Austro is a company formed by Mercedes Benz and Bosch, along with Hor Technology a small transmission specialist, but the hand of Diamond may also be detected behind the scenes!

i have a question abuot the canopy and roof...on the abacus one it appears as just a drawn line...no "depth" or 3d to it at all...so does this aerosoft one in the screen shot...that alone will stop me from buying it...the one i sat in at my local airport has a visual depth to it...hard to discrib for me and i didnt take a pic...but it does not look like just a line

On the Eaglesoft model, there is thickness to the canopy frame, 1.45" inches to be precise. The canopy "perspex" is likewise 0.25" thick. I've recently added the 3d side vents to the canopy, so all of the screenshots will need to be updated. Those on the website are now quite old... :bump:

Bill, was just looking at the screenshots again, is Ms. Perky Poly available in the VC or only the exterior model? Looks like some fine mesh work there, on the aircraft that is, LOL.

Exterior model only, and both the pilot and copilot may be individually shown/hidden via the Preflight Utility panel.

Bummer Bill, LOL Oh well, that is the beauty of FSX, interior camera views, LOL. :ernae:

I've been playing around designing a catamaran in FSX and had to toss in several bikini beauties on the deck, it's quickly becoming my fav ride, LOL.
