I present to you the Grumman F7F-3 'Tigercat' for CFS3!

Due to time issues I've been unable to complete my F7F-3 Tigercat project so I decided to just release the WIP for you all to enjoy here at SOH! This package is 100% done by me. Others tried to help with the project in the past but I had to start over from scratch (long story), thus I was unable to use their work. For those of you who contributed in the past, thank you! This release uses all my own work so any files related to the old project may no longer work with this version.

I hope you will all try her out and have fun seeing what this baby can do! :salute:

Greg thanks a lot my brutha! Many of us have been waiting patiently for the finished version. I suppose the skins Jaycee made for the beta will no longer work? If not I'm sure someone will want to dress this little speedster up. How is everything BTW, haven't heard from you in awhile?

I think the mods needed time to approve the file first. It works 100% for downloading now!

The skins made for the old version won't work 100% as they are. You would have to modify them a little first. It shouldn't be too hard since the new version has a lot in common with the old one. There are a few minor changes in the UVW mapping of the model to correct some flaws, repositioning of the engine nacelle and cowl textures mostly. The rest of the mapping I think is pretty close to the original. I no longer have the original textures to compare with so I can't be 100% sure. I can make a paintkit for people if need be.

I agree- I found mine to be a great adversary for the Ki-83...

A paint kit would be great- perhaps I may throw something together for this one that might come out as decent as the one I did for Milton's FS9 Tigercat... -Mike Z.
 
Well I'm glad to see you are all enjoying the new toy, I knew you would! I wanted to let everyone know that I have given Grizzly and the boys of the ETO/PTO team full permission to use the Tigercat in their projects.

To mikezola, I'll see what I can do about a paint kit for the community. What I'm not so clear on is what format the paintkit should be. What format do most people prefer? I was thinking perhaps a layered Photoshop .psd file but I can just as easily make other formats. Let me know what works best.

I've recently become aware of some serious flaws with the UVW mapping of the model! This will be fixed ASAP and I will release an updated model for everyone! The texture maps will stay the same. The way they are applied to the model will be changed. So be prepared to scrap the first release. I appologize in advance to everyone currently enjoying the Tigercat. I guess I got a bit ahead of myself!
