It was a good day.

Its pretty cool to see so many 'kept the peace'. Thats what the big guy taught. I for one am proud of you all.

Peace and freedom. It may come at a price, but its a beautiful thing.

Thanks for posting Cheezy. I'd not seen this before. Very moving. Reminds me of my distant past.
Just goes to show that Jesus saves white trash like me. And that was long before there was extra hardship in the world. But, I'm not here to preach. Glad everyone had a great Easter Sunday.

Peace

With regard to this celebration called Easter ...

Can any of you celebrants please show me in scripture where the early christian church, (while the apostles were around,) celebrated it?

Just out of curiosity ... :d

What they did celebrate was the Lord's resurrection and it wasn't called Easter, but think about it for just a minute, who cares if we took a lousy pagan holiday and turned it into a day of worship and adoration. Is Christmas any different? Christmas is a pagan holiday that eventually became a day of celebration of the birth of Christ. He surely was not born on Christmas day nor were the magi at his cradle side at Christmas-so what??

This thread was for Christians who wanted to say something positive about the Lord's resurrection. Why is that such a big threat to you so called "free thinkers." I was a avid atheist at one time. David Hume, François-Marie Arouet-Voltaire his pen name, was my hero. I'll bet I have more degrees from better universities than most any of you critics in here, so I'm not exactly your naive little fool who needs a crutch. What I am is grateful that once I was blind and arrogant but now I see!

Just out of interest and to put my burgeoning conspiracy theory to bed, are there any mods here who aren't Christian, born again or otherwise? I think we all probably have a right to know, especially those who made donations to keep the place open.

Any mods who are atheists, agnostics, could care less or are practioners of any other faith please come forward and make yourselves known - :bump:

Yes, there are! As to names, I will leave that up to them. It is their right to tell or not. Their individual right to privacy is greater than our desire to know if another practices or doesn't practice a particular religion.

Gentlemen, Easter has come and gone. I hope everyone who wanted to had an opportunity to offer their thoughts on Easter.

It is now time to close this thread. If anyone wishes to continue a discussion on Easter, please feel free to carry it on in the Quarter Moon Saloon.
