I realize many here have never seem a "holler " in Eastern Kentucky
And i took a few shots to show you all the World I grew up in and where my family comes from..
These are typical roads in a "Holler"

And one of the "Old houses" My cousin lives here by the way..And one of the "Modern Houses" another cousin lives here..

cool.....nice peacefull looking area...i would like that life.

there are areas in the gold country here where i live simular,,,they dont grow cron for the crop of choice, its maryjane...or the mobile methlabs, but go to a place called Iowa hill out of Colfax cal and yer lost in time..last time i was there most of the place didnt have any running water or power,,only power was at the local bar/cafe,,,drive along the main road in chevy caprice and windows and doors slam close and window shades pull down...dogs run loose....drive through in a fire engine and you see people with shotguns and rifles behind the homes in the trees...truley used to be a scarey place

Yes the Bottoms (fields) are narrow, and all of the flat space is used..

The Corn is for the cows and horses for the winter all of this is used stalks and ears..
They also grow Hay, and Straw.. Again for the animals..

And the area is "DRY" still No Beer or Spirits are sold there even now..
But there is plenty of the famous "White Lighting" to go around..
And as expected some also finds it's way into the "hollers"
