Editing aircraft files?

Ok...I know i've read about this somewhere but I can't find it. I am running Windows 7 and want to add some paints to vairous aircraft. My system is not letting me edit the aircraft files and it says I'm not authorized.

How do I fix that?

Also, where can I find the FSX.cfg file so I can edit it also?

thanks!

Two workarounds:

1. Turn off UAC (user account control) completely. I think it serves a legitimate purpose, so I don't.

2. Move aircraft.cfg onto the desktop. Edit and save it there. Move it back to your aircraft folder.

in the start menu search box type UAC and it will be the only option there for you to click on

FSX.cfg is found:

Windows(C)
Users
Your user name
App data
Roaming
Microsoft
FSX

I have set up a shortcut to mine on the desk top to save me time mucking about.

Ok, I know in XP you had to unlock something to get to application data......is it the same with Wondows 7 because I'm not seeing it here.

Never mind...figured it out!

I should prolly mention steps 1-4 is all you need to do, once at step four, select your account and tick the boxes for allow, then hit apply.
