Still here,

not been around as much due to comp trouble, but I'll be ready and waiting with paypal ready to shoot for this one, and the rest if you decide to build them (please do!!). Comercially, I'd suggest the Yankee versions first, probablly more lucrative, but my heart SCREAMS fighter canopies first!!

Your choice, I'll by them all anyway, lol.

Always listen to your heart Jamie - and let's hope Steve listens to it as well!! :icon_lol:

You and me both, WH. I know it , like all the other recent packs, is long overdue. Trust me I wish it was not the case. I'll do what I can to get it out in time, bear in mind this the biggest pack yet with more variation in FDEs than others due to the experimental nature of the types involved, so requires more tweaking and beta testing. Modelling is only part of the equation, but at least that is almost finished. Just adding the last details to the PR.3 and 7.
No. I didn't know that. :mixedsmi:

Hey, it aint over yet! Don't you believe in Santa Claus? .
Yes, I do. Only 13 more days until Christmas!!! :icon_lol:

I really shot myself in the foot with that Santa Claus comment didn't I? You know what they say about best laid plans. Perhaps we might have to start thinking about late Xmas presents...:(

Actually, it all started with your announcement on August 9th along with all those screenshots. :jump: As I mentioned elsewhere the impression was that it was close to being finished, but as you've mentioned things have gone sideways a couple times and life got in the way. :kilroy: Guess I need to wait until my birthday next March, heh??

Good reminder there of my failure to deliver, WH! yes, I do recall posting those images at the time thinking 'you've done it now!' but while some of the models for the pack have long been complete, others needed work, and then the scope of the pack grew to feature the PR.3 and 7 among others. Real life of course played its part in delaying all this, and bobs your uncle, it's now 14th Dec and I'm still not ready! :) So I will give no more dates, but let's just hope the end result, like your long awaited B-57 pack will be worth it!

Evening all,

Just so WH does not think I have given up completely on the latest pack, here are a few snaps of the PR.3 in flight testing. The FDE tests well for it, so now its onto some possible effects for the PR.7. Still lots more to do on this pack, but the wait should be worth it.

Hello all,

after a lot of my usual excuses, I am pleased to report some progress at last. Here are some screens testing out the PR.7 (the bigger brother of the PR.3) with droppable photo recce flares and effects. I am not going to give dates on the release because War Horse will (rightly) kill me, but it might be relatively soon. Please don't kill me WH...

And to close, having some fun with the oh so superb ACG Duxford:

Please don't kill me WH...
If I did that, I'd have nobody to spar with... [all in fun, of course. You know I love your work.:icon_lol:] Besides, you have a lot more to accomplish after this package. :jump:

Great shots, Steve. Looking forward to the next release.

Now, where did I put that voodoo doll....

Step back from the doll, WH, I am going to do my damnedest to make sure it is not needed. I spent an enjoyable evening last night throwing the DH Spectre-powered B.1 around, testing out its FDE and rocket effects. Good progress made, and at this rate, perhaps we are looking at Feb for release. There, I just made another commitment for you to hound me on! Hey, I wouldn't have it any other way ;)

A few more snaps from tonight's testing.

More to come soon hopefully.

Sigh of relief...at long last the end is in sight. I literally just shipped the pack off to the beta team, so pending their results...it's soon. A word that I have destroyed so many times over the last, what 4-5 months? I can only hope your patience is rewarded WH, my old friend.

This is it. The last of the FS9 bubble canopy Canberras, I promise. As the curtain closes, here are some of the cast:

PR.3

MOT_9_019.jpg

Indian Air Force PR.57

MOT_7_041.jpg

Royal Navy T.22 (the FSX users among you may recognise the nose cone from another recent Flying Stations production ;)

MOT_9_004.jpg

B.6 (mod) WT333 (what a beauty, eh? At long last!)

MOT_9_010.jpg

B.2 with Bristol Olympus engines

MOT_9_014.jpg

So watch this space as always. After this I am venturing into the Dark Side but will do my damnedest to keep FS9 compatibility.

Yessss....finally! :jump:
You see Steve, I'd been patient........eventually. :icon_lol:

Cheers,

Steve,

excellent news, will have to complete my collection.

Are you sure there's no more? :d

Hah, yeah I think this is it for the bubble canopies. The series ran its planned length in terms of content, but certainly not of timeframe! It's nice to be at the end of this run, even though there are of course variants that were not covered such as the B.5 and U.10/14. But you can't have 'em all. No, after this it is on to the new Sea Hawk, which is long overdue. After that, possibly some more B-57s of the tandem variety and the B(I) fighter canopy series. And I'd like to do a Fairey Gannet at some point as well...lots of plans, we'll see how time goes for them all though ;)
