Effects causing major fps hit

Hi guys,

I've noticed recently that when there are a reasonable number of effects being displayed that my fps takes a significant hit. I don't think it used to do this, but I'm not 100% sure. But right now I can go from 60 to 10 just by firing an extended burst into a ship. Does anyone know of config settings that might help? Thanks,

Daniel

Maybe this could help??????

The only times I've had frame rate drop is when I'm playing music, watching YouTube, or any other media.....................................and then there's the Disk Defragmenter and Hard Disk Cleanup

I always do it every month, just in-case you might wanna do that!

Either than that or it could mean you need to clean your pc from any dust and other build up, THAT STUFF MAKES YOUR PC WORK FOR AGES untill you smell molten metal...............hehehehe:icon_lol: I'v had experiences.

Could be your heat paste is also dried up............... OH and I have a 1gb video card with 2gb of memory and a 500 gb hdd and my config is 1680x1050x32 and 5 on all image quality parameters with my targeting cone off, warnings off, most of the stuff i have off is to make the game realistic, yet no low framerate o_O????????????

I take the usual precautions in making sure as little else is running as possible and usually get right at 60 fps. The drop is specifically with effects, very little else has an effect on it. I've got a pretty decent system, 8gb ram 1gb nvidia card and 2.93 ghz processor, so I'm specifically trying to get the effects to run more efficiently. I think I must have accidentally changed a setting as I have only had this problem recently.
