Ellyson Field Naval Auxiliary Air Station, Pensacola, FL

I live about three miles from the remnants of this air station. The hangars are still there (at least some of them). A construction company owns the property now. Sad, actually, when thinking of how active the base was. The type of hangars are the same as ones at Corry Field and Saufley; also here in Pensacola.

Ellyson would be a cool project for someone who creates scenery! I am NOT one who creates, but DO appreciate those who do!! NC:encouragement:

True enough, Chief - it was around for a long time, trained a vast number of Navy, Marine and USCG helo pilots. I got to (TRY!) to fly an H-34 there on our Midshipman aviation orientation in the summer of 1963. Handling manifold pressure and RPM simultaneously was a total joke when you first try it!
