Emergency Gear Extend

Does anyone know if there is an emergency landing gear "extend" function available when your gear won't extend because of air to air combat damage?

Shift+G but only see it work once years and years ago....

I think you have to have the sim set up for CFS1 commands for that to work ??

I guess it all depends on the damage ??

If you are using the CFS2 keyboard setup, you have to keep hitting Shift + G and the gear should lower in increments. Try that.

If using the CFS1 setup, I don't know the key sequence.
