Enigma release 737

Hmmm, after reading their forum discussion on it, sounds like they are stuck with absent designers and this release is more or less throwing in the towel and sending what they have out the door.

Think I'll pass on this one.

Sounds as if they are giving up on FS9 development, more than anything else. Too bad, the model looked very promising from the screenies they had on their downloads page. I'm not much for tube liners but I do enjoy flying the 737. I have several POSKY models including the Boeing Posiedon and the "Wedgetail" variant in RAAF colours. Nicely done with many animations, and as far as I can tell, very accurate FM.

Tested (short test)

So far on my FS9 install it's a bad beta
Lights problems (can be corrected by user)
No fan blades (blank)
Seem's overpowered (endemic problem for many FS9 planes)
The most bad problem:
CTD when going in external view ! :pop4:
Good side:
Nice model (as far I can see it for few seconds :) )
Seem's good contact points
Suggestion to devellopers:
Hand it to Milton Shupe .. and he will fix it in one week when he have free time :jump:
Hard comments .. but what I tested is a project on the workbench from almost 3 years ......

Out of sheer curiosity, I installed this model and encountered pretty much the same issues, no fan textures while the engines are running... lights issues, but no CTD's. Suffice to say, I never pushed it back, but shut her down where she sat. I probably won't be flying this one any time soon. Too bad tho, the model has potential, and the folks that were working on this were off to a good start.

I briefly flew this last night without any issues in external view.

As mentioned the fan blade textures are missing.

I like it and the Eyebrows Winglets model is my favorite.

Looking forward to some new repaints.

Pete.

I checked this out just for fun, tubes are not really my cup of tea. It's a nice model set, had some ctd problems with the light effects (ended up deactivating most of them), looking forward to seeing some repaints.

If it had a vc I'd be a lot more excited, when I feel the urge to fly a 737 I load the Moach '737 Experience', it's a 737-700 with a nice vc and lots of repaints.

Anyway, I think I've 'solved' the fan texture problem. Go into the texture folder and rename the "CFM56-3_FanFast" to "CFM56-3_FanFast_T" and "CFM56-3_FanSlow" to "CFM56-3_FanSlow_T" and you should have fan textures (worked for me).

I cant get the textures to show in Fs Repaint. It says Mdl file not found?? I have no issues of CTD's and no fan blade issue.

NO VC = strike one ( and really almost out of the game at that point )
MDL incompatible with FSRepaint to show progress of paint work outside of the sim = strike two
CTD with the eyebrow window model = strike three

No thank you. There is much better stuff out there to fly. Most of them have real engines :D

There is a fix for the Fsrepaint issue
http://www.enigmasim.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=986
Also if you search there support area for the 737 you'll find the fix for textures and there reuping with fixes.
The VC is reserved for FSX.

1) The link above give the error :
[h=2]An Error Occurred[/h] Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

2) This no support area (support section forum) for the 737

Ok .. right now I have the possibility to read the support(s) forum .. as full member..
But this don't add nothing good for me
Downloaded again the base model
Applied the correction for texture fan (from the SOH member .. thank you)
I read that the flicker light (located at the landing light position) is embedded in the model !! .. so no users correction allowed
Anyway .. with all this (even all lights deleted) I still receive CTD and worse .. some PC freeze ! (reset needed)
Binned for a while ... or definitely .. :jump:

I give lots of air time to the Moach '737 Experience', as mentioned above, I would love to see these colours on that model.

I'm not one for tube liners, but of all of the jet versions out there, I really like the 737, and flew the stock model for the longest time, with a few enhancements of course.

If someone with greater skills than I have, takes the Enigma model "under their wing" and brings it back to flying status, I would consider that plane as well. I noticed in the beta, the pilots are "faceless" lol!!!

I'm not much for the tubeliners either, mainly because most of them don't have a VC; that and they don't lend themselves too well to hand-flying (you know, stick and rudder skills). Thanks to this thread I tried the Moach 737-700 and I've gotta say WOW. First airliner I didn't crash in a LONG time on the first flight. Still handles like a bus but at least it's controllable. It's definitely a keeper, especially in FedEx livery. All in all a very pleasurable 'Experience'. Thanks Pfflyers! :ernae:

You're welcome!

Glad to give a boost to this model, even though it's been around a while I only just 'discovered' it myself.

Can anyone recommend a good sound set for the 737-300 series please?

Anything is better than the default.

Thanks,

Pete.

good morning Pete,
go to avsim and look for "emil serafino", he did a very nice sound package for the 737-300.
Cheers,

Stéph.
