Escape from Australia

Damn! I love this race. The tension of landing in a heavy mist, after a long flight gives me the same thrill as when I was a Bullfighter!

Me and my big mouth! Flying over France, about 100nm from the English Channel, the French fired a ballistic OOM at me. I staggered on for a while but the writing was on the wall. Bugger bugger bugger!
Start again tomorrow. Hey ho.
 
It is with considerably less confidence that I set off from Venice. (again) To say I'm worried would not be unreasonable. However, off I go.

That was the most traumatic leg of them all. Every time the weather updated my heart gave a lurch!

Now, I wonder if Mildenhall has a good aircraft valet service. I have to admit I wasn't my usual tidy self on this trip. On top of that I knocked the inflight latrine over a couple of times, farted more than usual and threw up mightily during some very heavy turbulence over Indonesia.

First, I'd like to say that my hat's off to those brave souls who went from UK to Oz. Kudos to them all. And Nick...I am NOT bitten by the RTW bug. My hat is off to you guys too. My poor old body couldn't take the strain of not having a GPS!

Craig, I'm dismantling it, crating it up and shipping it to SoCal, where it belongs. :adoration:

Congrats on making it to England Ron. FYI, you CAN use a GPS in the RTWR, but the little sportplane won't cut it with the heavy iron crew. Besides, most of the legs are less than 2 hours so it's easy flying.

Funny you should say that. I've just now installed the C47 by Manfred Jahn. Managed to get it started (much to learn) then a warning horn came on for no reason that I can figure and it frightened me off! I'll go back and tame it.
