ETO docks - any problems?

Is anyone having frame rate problems with the docks and harbours in their ETO install? There have been comments on these forums recently but before we change the facility files we'd like some opinions please.

This mainly affects the UK. A good test is to fly from Hawkinge then head east up the coast to Dover, or from Martlesham and head for the ports of Felixstowe and Harwich.

The facility files can be thinned out for better fps but it's at the expense of eye-candy and targets. :)

My machine is pretty average :banghead: and I noticed great improvement around Dover and the Portsmouth area with the update to ETO. I had resorted to removing Gosport docks just so I could fly near Portsmouth previously but I dont seem to get many problems now. Ive got a 1.8 processor with 1 gig ram and a 256mb graphics card. Ive got my graphics set at 554451. As frame rates are concerned Ill have to get back to you on that one

Glad to hear the improvements to that patch worked. As there's a big difference in all our pc's we might end up doing a low and high res version of the harbours so that the 'lucky' ones can keep the eye candy.

Also, for those like me with lower end pc's the FS Autostart proggy helps a lot with fps....

Thanks for the patch Pat! I get around 10 - 12 FPS which is good enough for small dogfights and bombing attacks. I use the FS Autostart after your advise in a previous thread and it does make a difference. :ernae:

At 10k feet lowest frps 35 over Dover Folkstone - at 500 feet 18

Leaving Hawkinge frps 60

A steady 28-29 FPS over Folkstone and Dover from 5000 feet down to treetop level. Drops to about 19 FPS once a facility is on fire.
