ETO. European Theatre of Operations. Where do I get it?

Sorry to bother you guys again, but I am so late to this party it feels like almost everyone has gone home.
What exactly is ETO? The original CFS3 is set in the European Theatre of Operations, but it sounds like ETO is an add-on, without which there are missions that I will not be able to play. So where do I find it? And is there anything else I need to be up and operational?
 
playing since a few days CFS3 , it's all about the European Theatre of Operation. It's not an add-on
 
Oh wow, well that's handy. It's just that I'm going through the mission downloads and they keep saying that I need ETO version something or other to use the mission.
 
The ETO Expansion v.5 is basically CFS3 on steroids. It and the other theatre add-ons (MAW, PTO, BoB, Korea) can be found in the sticky thread above where Sixstrings 5859 (

For most you need a vanilla copy of CFS3v1a over which the link is run after downloading and expanding but read and follow the instructions. Once ETO is set up a Startup app allows you to choose one of 5 time periods to run and enjoy the contributions of many on this forum past and present. The Sticky threads above also give advice on some of the problems this veteran sim cam encounter with each succesive Microsoft OS and also news of new resources and new projects being devloped (TOW, Banff Strike Wing). Take your time to explore and enjoy and maybe you will be inspired to make your own contribution.

Well I got up to 1.40. Amazing, astonishing. Now I can fly Bomber missions which is all I wanted to do. So I'm going to sit there.

The 3.1a update didn't work. Some FU text in German said there was a problem, so I went ahead without it and 1.40 seems to be running just fine without it.

I hit a brick wall with 1.50. I am supposed to unzip the CFS3 ETO Expansion Update Rev 1.50 File Remover.zip first.
Unfortunately, when I attempt to unzip this file, I get an error message: Error 0x80010135 Path too long, and can't get past it.

Has anyone had this problem and solved it?
Could I just install 1.50 without running this file?

Actually I'm just grateful I got as far as 1.40
