ETO QC Shipping

In common with a number of fellow CFS3-doers, I am getting rather sick of hearing that every single thing is connected to ETO. This for example is not. The QC shipping generator is something I did some time ago, and has no input from ETO whatsoever.

I think this proves my point:

This sort of thing is all the more annoying because a number of us - the W40 team in particular - were actually excluded from the ETO group immediately after the initial release. That is why you do not find any recent work of mine or of those I work with in it.

I have the QC shipping disabled on my ETO set ups.
(Just like having the spawns disabled for missions also)
QC shipping badly interferes with missions..
You have targets popping up and appearing..That aren't part of the mission plan..
Kind of Sucks..:icon_lol:


In one of my missions sets here at SOH I believe the ETO Team build a program for ETO..
I included in the mission package..
(program to disable this function(QC Shipping) or enable (QC Shipping)..

This QC shipping generator is an interesting comcept, I downloaded it when it first came out an I am still using it.

It is not included in ETO 1.2, which is the last I bothered to install. If you find it has been included in subsequent versions, it should not have been. As I said, I do not work with ETO.

There are three versions, one near St Mary's, one near Predannack, and one in the Zuider Zee. I uploaded only one, I think.

That sounds like a threat. I do not react well to threats.

I admit I had to check if it had been included in ETO, and it appears not to have been included in 1.2, which as I pointed out above, is the last I bothered to install.

If you added it to a later update having first thrown myself and the rest of the West 1940 team off the project without even telling us we were no longer welcome - which is what happened when you changed forums without informing any of us - and then included further things of mine in the mix, then as far as I understand it, my permissions covered only those things of mine you asked to use and did use, during the time I was involved.

Any further permissions which may be hanging around waiting for the moment - if indeed there are any, which I doubt - I hereby revoke. You may of course continue to use such work of mine as was included in the initial release only, before the West 40 team was excluded.

I do not think it is worth getting in a fight about it, and I will not be contacting you in person for precisely that reason.

But I do not like to see any of my work referred to as "the ETO" anything.

If you're not happy about that, you have only yourself to blame.

Nigel, I had asked you about two years ago for permission to use you QC Shipping idea in ETO 1.30, whish is no longer avqailable, but was carried over to ETO 1.40.

You not only responded possitively, you sent me additional info. I had aso staterd that you would get credit for it, which you did.

I ask that you check your old emails, if you still have them. There were at least a half-dozen each way.

Here is the CFS3 ETO EXPANSION CONTRIBUTOR CREDITS 1.40.rtf to prove it. The one for 1.30 was the same.

I don't use anything from anyone without permission or some other similar acknowledgement.

This document was included in the install packs for ETO 1.30/1.31 and ETO 1.40 and its Hotfix package.

It also resides in the CFS3 ETO Expansion READMEs folder found in the ETO Expansion main game of any install from ETO 1.30 and on.

Nigel, again, you had given me express permission and even gave me some extra assistance. Check your old emails.

OK, Casey, horns retracted. I am extremely surprised to see I gave permission at that late date, after our exclusion from the team, and can only assume I agreed out of friendship for yourself.

The rest of what I said stands.
 
Guys, take this to the realm of PM's if you could. We've got a pretty good track record here at the CFS3 section and let's keep it that way. This is only an admonition, so far no one's done anything wrong...just please keep it all civil.
