I have just spent 4 hours installing ETOv1.40 from scratch beginning with ETOv10, then adding v1.20 before beginning to instalv1.40. Once done I referred to 'final notes' and noticed that I had to remove the 'unlimited pilots.xml' - I did that but held it in my system 'Recycle' box.
The 'final note' indicated that the UP.xml would re-write when v1.40 was run the next time. That did not happen for I was greeted with the notice thatr the program 'had a missing or corrupt' UP.xml. Returning the UP.xml from my Recycling box to its position enable v1.40 to operate. I have only had time for a short test flight so have not had time to discover whether the extra pilots appear in my 1.40 installation.
Should v1.40 have re-written the 'unlimited pilots.xml'? Please advise.
No matter which version of CFS3 one runs, I must emphasize at this point that I am a 'newbie' to CFS3, all versions seem to require Disk 1 of the program to be inserted into one's computer. Many years ago a ery clever soul produced a little "No CD" file for FS9. Has anyone made a "No CD" for CFS3? If this has been done could a forum user please tell me where I can download such a file for CFS3?
Another irritation is the starting video and music - I have taken steps to ensure that my base CFS3 program does not play that video and music prior to starting to fly. Similarly I have not put into v1.40 the era music - Does anyone else do that or am I in the minority on that aspect of Flight Sims?
