Evening on the water

Retired SOH Admin
This evening, Deb and I spent a lovely 4 hours on the lake with her sisters, Tina and Dee, and Dee's husband, Jeff. Dee and Jeff bought a pontoon boat a month or so ago, and this was the first time that we have been able to all get together for some boat time. The lake was very calm, with just a few boats and jet skis out and about. The weather was clear and pleasant. We took our sweet time puttering down the lake and back...then simply shut the boat off and drifted with the breeze and night fell. It was so very quiet, the sky was full of a billion stars (can't remember when I have seen that many stars).

Getting Deb onto and off the boat was a bit tricky, as the dock is a floating dock and tends to move a good bit....not a good thing for a person with some balance issues to be on...but we managed well enough. She did not fall into the water...which was good.

Deb spent some time at the wheel, piloting the boat....she gave up the controls when two other boats approached our position.

I drove the boat for a while and got a good laugh from everyone when I stated that I was Captain Howdie.

Between the two of us, Tina and I took over 260 pictures....the one great advantage of digital cameras. Will sort through them later and get some of the better shots posted for you all to see.

for those who don't know who captain howdy is,

I was thinking more of the Captain Howdy from The Exorcist....the one who speaks to Regan through the Ouija Board. Deb is a big time scary movie watcher, and the Exorcist is one of her favorites.

I watch the stars almost everynight, when there are stars to watch and it is not cloudy out there. My daughter and I always wish upon a star- kinda thing! Minus the lake and the boat. We love the beauty of the dark clouds and all the sparkling stars above. Some are brighter than the others and others has each own characteristics and shine! What an awesome sight! One of the best masterpiece God has painted, in His majestic powers!
