external loads do not work??

Jaxon

virtually there
Hi all,

I am not able to select or fire my external loads?

They show up in free flight, but just are there - without use?!

What wonders me is, no *.cdp files are calculated?
I have deleted all of these some time ago just to clean up.
Normally these appear again, when a certain object is needed/used.

Any ideas, what can cause this trouble? A missing or wrong *.dll file for example?

I haven`t used CFS2 very much for a long time, so please pardon my ignorance.

Hey Jaxon,

If you could post a copy of the DP it might help us to better analyze the problem quicker, rather than giving you a lot of speculation.

Hi Jaxon,
If after firing up the sim OK, using an ac AND you are not generating a .cdp file then I doubt it's a sim problem.

IIRC didn't you go to Win7 64bit OS? If so, then I think that will be your problem. It's possibly a Win7 UAC or your anti-virus blocking the production of the .cdp files (which is the computer generated code version of the DP, and this is the version that the sim needs and reads for weapons to function (I know you know all that M, but it's for anyone else searching for info ;)).

I've attached a standard CFS2 Hellcat .cdp file (named as txt file), see if that makes your Hellcat spit lead?

Cheers

Hello guys,

thanks for the support. The key should not be in the aircraft`s DP files.

I think, I still know, how these work. Further, I have not touched these lately.

But on the other hand, I just don`t know, what I have done by accident when fiddling somewhere else.

But I need to be more precise: It is the *.cdp file of the weapon/load, that does not work anymore.
The *.cdp files for the planes are created again, if I have deleted them before.

- I looked for the Antivir program, but no luck
- I checked, that the object dp folder is not writeprotected - no luck.

Any more ideas?

Hi Jaxon,
Hmmm, have you tried a virgin un-touched install of CFS2? If that does not work, then it must be your OS or another programme that's affecting the .cdp files.

Is the sim producing new scenery 'filelist.dat' files? Delete those and see if they get reproduced. It might not be definitive if they don't, but may show it's external to the sim?

What does your OS register .cdp files as? In XP they don't register but Win7?

Also check that 'hidden files' are made visible, if you're the only pc user, then that's not usually a problem.

If your weapons are displayed then the sim must be getting the .cdp info for that ac. Have you checked keyboard/joystick and sim command assignments?
