The NYC units in the second link look pretty beat out. Pic looks to be around 1967-68 just before the infamous Penn Central merger. I always liked the "lightning stripe" paint job...

...Not much of a diesel fan (Steam locos forever!)...there's a definite aesthetic quality to the early diesel stream liners. Especially the early Santa Fe's with their war bonnet motif.
