F-8 Vought Crusader FSX

I thought the brakes were weak too..

...then I started landing at 145kts...works waaaaaay better.

The brakes may be a littler weak.. Near the bottom of the aircraft config file you'll find this entry:

toe_brakes_scale=0.7
parking_brake=1

A setting of 1.0 on toe brakes is way too strong, so perhaps raising it up to 0.85 - 0.90 will work..
 
Ello, anyone know the guage name for the radar?
I want to coment it out but nothings jumping out at me from the list. On a simillar note I've removed the HUD since the F-8 was a tad early to have one however I'm not so sure aboutt he MN F-8's, did they get one latter in life?

Comment out this gauge: ALPHA_Crusader!RADAR2
You will find it twice, in [Window00] and in [Vcockpit02]
 
Nope, isn't listed under either, no mention of radar anywhere in my panel cfg. :isadizzy:

OK.... looks like you have a modded panel (I was referring to the Alphasim panel). Anyway, judging by the positioning, I think your panel uses Rollusgauges!tews as a replacement for the original Alphasim radar gauge.
 
Blast from the past ... trying for DX10

Hey all!

Remember this lovely jet? Recently resurrected and made so much better with Don's tweaks and paints, Pam's FDE enhancements, and Dave's lovely paints ...

Anyway, since upgrading my pc, and switching over to DX10 - and Steve's Fixer - this lovely bird is now back in the hangar.

Works mostly well - save for two issues:

1) Reheat/AB effect is partially invisible - as is the case with other older FS9 portovers - so that's more for the discussion I've started here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?87810-Afterburner-reheat-effects-in-DX10

2) More critically, is that from the VC, the glass is opaque - a solid blueish grey colour.

Has anyone gotten this to work properly in DX10? Alongside the Rollus F-8, which seems to work fine in FSX (incl the VC glass), and until/if the RFN F-8 is developed, this is what we F-8 nuts have to work with for a while ....

VC Canopy texture?

Hello,

Do the AB effect issue is cased - wondering if anyone knows which texture defines the vc glass from inside? I'm getting a fairly dark view from inside - though the view from spot view is perfect. Tried Canopy_T, and a few others, but I can't isolate which is the inside VC Glass texture...
