    Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

    You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

    If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

    To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

Note - Van der Garde qualified 21st but was penalised five grid spots for causing a collision at the previous round and therefore starts 22nd.
 
As things stand right now,
Lewis is looking quite brilliant for leaving McLaren. Also, "kudos" to Force India Mercedes for out-qualifying McLaren Mercedes....

And finally, great to see Nico blossoming now that Michael is gone....
 
Fifteen laps into the race, and the safety car is now out to clean all the debris from three major tire blow-outs.... Pirelli once again making an @$$ of themselves...
 
Edit: The announcers just said that Pirelli wanted to bring out a new compound to this race but the TEAMS couldn't agree on it.

There are two kinds of teams at the moment: Those with tire wear issues (Red Bull, Mercedes) and those without (Lotus, Force India) so they'll never agree on which tire they want/need..

As for Pirelli, they changed the construction of the tire a few races ago to prevent delamination and now four tires explode.. Then there's the 'tire-gate' testing affair with Mercedes and their lack of ability to produce a consistent set of tires..

Good win for Nico, too bad Webber couldn't quite make it in his last British GP, good points for Alonso especially now that Vettel failed to score. Impressive fight back to the front for both Hamilton and Massa, but the safety cars helped them a lot.
 
Watched it on the tele Ferry_vO, didn't those tyres brew up or what! There's a running story to be told about that fiasco. Keep watching.....

Amazing comebacks by Massa & Hamilton and also a great job by Nico to hold it together after a sluggish earlier race re-start.

One user in a SPEEDTV thread posted the following comment which I thought was interesting:

...I can excuse the severe tire degradation because that seemed to be a ploy by the F.I.A. to punish cars like the Red Bull that produce high amounts of downforce...

Well I've just gotten back from Silverstone! :D

Great race weekend, really good racing.

FP:
Pretty normal, rain spoilt play on Friday but Saturday morning was good.

Qualy: so so, normal fare really.

Race: wow, quite an exciting one, atmosphere was mad, temperature up in the 27-28c range, so quite a scorcher... possibly leading to the tyre issues, cold track, hot air? That or a damaged kerb, as it seemed to all occur into the Beckets Complex... which is a kerb hugging section.
Vettel going out lead to a massive roar from the crowd... apparently we don't like him :p Great finish, great diversity, and awesome to see Webber on the podium for his final British GP, he deserved it.

Props go to the Caterham and Marussia of Chilton and Pic that fought tooth and nail throughout the race, even at the back they fought hard, at one point going through Vale and Club side by side... (the entire series of corners... very exciting moment!)

My drivers of the weekend: Di Resta, awesome recovery, and Hamilton for his decent fightback and SO SO SO nearly taking Alonso into Vale and Club on the last lap... From the grandstand at Vale, the atmosphere was so electric as he tried to pounce... pity, but the best drivers won.



As for the Speedtv comment... conspiracy? meh, would Bernie like to? probably, could it happen? no, though I expect Pirelli were rather upset for one. Is strange that the supposed rapid deflation proofing that Pirelli did which lead to so many de laminations revered to spectacular failures here... My money is on the high side loading and damage to kerbs.
