'F1 Red Bull Helmut Marko: "Serious Differences" In Tire Quality'

Bloody Muppet!
Always has been, always will be.
Blame the 'Poison Dwarf' and the FIA, the tyre manufacturer is doing what they were ordered to do.

Actually it's not the first time I've heard about Pirelli producing inconsistent tires...

There are rumours going that FIA has asked Pirelli to do so, as it would make Formula One more interesting. You never know what is true or what is just spread as rumours to make others look bad.

My only experience with Pirelli is form years ago, I had Pirelli Gordon tires under my motor cycle. It really felt like you were glued on the road, but they didn't last very long. Budget in those day didn't allow me to keep buying tires, so I went to the more conventional Continentals.

Cheers,
Huub

Threr was an aritcle in an RTL GP magazine some time ago written by a former GT1 driver. He and his team bought a Ferrari 550 to take to Le Mans and asked Pirelli to deliver tires. They soon found out that the Pirelli's were about ten seconds per lap slower than the Michelins, but there were also huge differences inbetween the various sets.

They keep claiming that it's the cars that have changed, not the tires but it still remains odd that Rosberg and Maldonado have dominated one race and drove like their grannies on some of the others..
