F6F Hellcat Question

I've been trying to do some traps on one of the escort carriers off of Guadalcanal. My landings are fine and so are my traps, BUT the aircraft noses over everytime.

Anyone have any ideas on how to adjust the COG or any other fix that will keep the plane from nosing over?

Thanks in advance,
mal

Mal, get up with me over at TB, I have the solution for you which has given me total success on my traps with the Hellcat

The problem is your trying to "trap" the airplane. In the days we flew Hellcats they were called, "catching a hook" Try that and everything will be O.K. The only thing we would trap was Rats.
It is written: You only can "trap" a jet and other creepy things.

I could have sworn I said "catching a hook"...didn't I say catching a hook?

Rich,
I checked out the thread you recommended, and made the changes. It appears that moving the hook position has really helped. Two cable catches in a row with no nose over.

Thanks mate!
