• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

Facility "outer distance"

I think it has to do with AI behavior. Might be the radius of the traffic pattern for airfields or the distance at which the AI would like to start a bombing run. Not certain on either count though.
 
I think it's to do with the distance at which the ai will turn to make a landing approach, I'm sure it's expalined in a document somewhere, can't find it at the moment though.
 
The turn distance is defined in the airbase object.xml file. The distance parameter I would guess in facilities is used in one part to trigger a spawning event as for missions you embed a facility object at the location where you want a spawn event to occur? Just guessin'.

At the "outer distance", once your flight arrives at that distance from the facility the spawn event triggers? Must be explained in the Mission Builder guide recently posted here at SOH?
