Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated Tom Clayton has offered to post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Fairy Firefly Flying Stations - Throttle reaches only 82% power

I'm having a problem with the Fairy Firefly from Flying Stations, which is available for download here.
The throttle on the model stays at a maximum of 82% power and won't go up to 100%, even when I set the joystick to full throttle.
I can only reach a maximum of 82% power using the keyboard's key function as well.
The same issue occurs with the Hawker Sea Fury from Flying Stations.
Is there a solution for this behavior?

Regards
Scotty

I think its to do with the supercharger high/low setting. there is a controlling gauge that alters the throttle setting to replicate the low/high blower setting when the supercharger lever is moved to appropriate position. In the Firefly FR1 it is this gauge
"gauge01=GriffonXII!TransparentGauge,-25,25,0,0" The other variants have a similar gauge that imitate the supercharger boost of the Griffon engine variant fitted to the aircraft.

If indeed this is a problem related to the supercharger, then you need to be running both FSX AND Acceleration. Anyway, perhaps this post from a thread aboout the Flying Stations Sea Fury will help -

That's rather mysterious.
The recommended changes (and a few more concerning the performance characteristics) in the aircraft.cfg file have absolutely no effect for me.
That's very unusual, to say the least, since I've already edited the performance parameters of several models in FSX and the changes were always noticeable.
It might be relevant here that Flying Stations Sea Fury is designed for FSX Acceleration, but I only have the FSX with Service Pack 2 installed.
I've now installed the FS2004 Hawker Sea Fury from A.F. Scrub in FSX, and that works perfectly.

I think you will find that Acceleration is actually needed because that added turbocharging (or was it supercharging) to FSX as it was required to get the performance upgrade for the P-51 racers.

That's generally correct, but why the changes in the Aircraft.cfg file still have no effect, isn't really clear to me.
Acceleration affects the turbocharger characteristics, but not the performance parameters in the Aircraft.cfg file in general.
(or i am wrong:unsure:?)

Yes, you are wrong.

You have been told several times that Acceleration is essential for the FSX planes from Flying Stations to fly correctly. Those planes are even labelled as needing FSXacc in the library.

You said that you only have "the FSX with Service Pack 2" installed. Yet somehow you do not understand why your changes to the aircraft.cfg file have no effect If you want those changes to work, then you must install Acceleration on top of your FSX installation . . .

Hello Rohan,
the relationship between *Acceleration* and the performance-boosting parameters in the *aircraft.cfg* for the Flying Stations Sea Fury doesn't seem to be quite as clear-cut as you make it out to be.
You yourself pointed to the post #3 (thank you for that) that clearly confirms, that simply changing the performance parameters in the `aircraft.cfg` file helped to solve the problem—independent of "Acceleration".

"Anyway, perhaps this post from a thread aboout the Flying Stations Sea Fury will help -"

In light of that, my question and doubts are certainly not unfounded.
By the way, the Buccaneer—which is also designed for *Acceleration*—works perfectly well without *Acceleration* too.
The connections seem to be somewhat more complex after all.
But let's leave it at that, as I already mentioned, I resolved the situation in a different way.

Regards
