Hey Nigel here is a link to a forum where someone posted a boat load of Spitfire paint schemes. There were some very interesting ones to say the least. Since you do a lot of Spits I thought you might find some that strike you.

Cheers, Lewis - got there before you! I don't like his work that much, in fact; I've noticed one or two minor inaccuracies (nothing compared to the deluge of inaccuracies in the French-published "Histoire et Collections - Planes and Pilots" series I admit, but still.) But what I really don't like is the metallic sheen he gives all his aircraft. Overuse of the "incrustation" tool methinks. I've done it too, but that was years ago.

Yes his renderings are a bit shiny but some great paint scheme's none the less. Here are some schemes with the reflective surface toned down a bit, more like what you produce in your skins.
