Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated Tom Clayton has offered to post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Thank you. You just give me a lot to explore . I feel the need, the need for low level flying :costumed-smiley-071

Very nice ideas but your readers would need waypoints to follow your suggestions. If you had already flown any of those routes, it would be good idea for you to input waypoint routes into your route suggestions. The waypoints for your already flown flights can be found in your computer's files for you to copy and paste.

Aharon

nice...fly VFR - you'll like it and rather addictive ;) albeit, do not spend too much time fiddling with the scenery though! and turn off the GPS; fly instead with visual scenery markers/checkpoints and ground based navaids

Thanks for the suggestion. I do have saved flight plans for some of these, but for the most part it's just a matter of following obvious valleys, roads, and water features between the provided points, all of which can be found on FSXmap.com. They shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

The Mach Loop and Lake District are real RAF low-flying areas, so there's plenty of info online for those:

Others, like the Grand Canyon or the Swiss Alps have very obvious valleys to follow. For example, here's what the Portland Loop and Yosemite Valley routes look like:

The two NZ routes at the end are a bit more tricky. Motueka (NZMK) isn't part of the default scenery (though the town is there), and you'll also need something slower than a fast jet (I recommend CT4B or a helicopter) to follow the very tight valley system into Cobb Reservoir:

Here's an alternative second half of the above Swiss Alps route:

SWISS ALPS (ALT)
Bern (LSZB) → Thun (LSZW) → Interlaken (LSMI) → Meiringen (LSMM) → Ulrichen (LSMC) → Ambri (LSPM) → Locarno (LSZL) → Lago Maggiore → Malpensa (LIMC) Rwy35L

An entirely different Swiss Alps route from Zurich to Malpensa:

SWISS ALPS EAST
Zurich (LSZH) Rwy16 → Wangen-Lachen (LSPV) → Walensee → Bad Ragaz (LSZE) → E43 → Hwy13 → SS36 → Lago di Como → Malpensa (LIMC) Rwy17L

And some pics for the McKenzie Valley route out of KEUG posted earlier:
