Favourite Military Base

Every now and again it's fun to throw these threads out there to get ideas for people who are looking for a place to fly their military planes/jets from

I fly out of these the most

Ants Tindal in the top end of Aussie, short hop to Darwin and good for a extended flight down to Amberley

MAIW Lakenheath is another I love to fly out of as it gives Europe coverage

RAF Valley is a hoot. In the middle(ish) of the (UK) country and there are the Welsh hills top play with in Hawks, Hunters and Tonkas. Other than that Comox is my fave haunt.
Who was doing an FSX CL-41 Tutor btw?

Yeah Coningsby, Marham and Valley for me too, St Mawgan and Yeovilton for FAA, ohh and I have a photoreal area around Nellis too which I use for B1B's and Buff flights!

NAS Ft Worth and Pope AFB in the States, Wheelus AFB in North Africa and Al Jaber AB in Kuwait.:salute:

I've spent a lot of time and money on building a really nice Las Vegas for fsx so i have a great Nellis AFB that i fly from quite frequently

RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland is my favorite, you've also got Kinloss about 10 to 20 miles away.

Ian.

I like the stuff that Jim Dhaenens makes, and it's free. For current jets, my current favorite is NAS Fallon, Nevada, by Jim. Until he makes an FSX version of NAS Lemoore, that is... :) For WW-II, any base along the Solomon Islands, by Roger-Wilco-66.

KEDW - Edwards Air Force Base.
KSKA - Fairchild Air Force Base or KMUO - Mountain Home Air Force Base when I fly in my usual flight area.

In no real order
NAS Fallon
NAS Lemoore
NAS North Island
NAWS China Lake
NAF El Centro

Kind of a west coast Navy thing going on here. I'm still waiting for a proper NAWS Pt Mugu to be built.

RAF St Mawgan. Memories of camping at Trevarrian Holiday Park off the runway end and Nimrods at 7am taking off on full power.

MoD Boscombe Down. Local to me, interesting history, huge runway and I have flown from there 3 times in real life :jump:

HMS Ark Royal :p
Followed by RNAS Lossimouth, RNAS Yeovelton and RAF Leuchars.
If flying an American bird MCAS Mirramar or CFB Cold Lake.
Once the Virtavia and or Razbam A-4's are out I guess I'll be spending a lot of time around RNAS Nowra and HMAS Melbourne.
