Feathering props...

...I lost several good missions due to being unable to feather a prop.Without the prop feathered, seems have to work the lone engine too much, usually burns up before could make it back to base....

Soooo, a successful bailout and later rescue doesn't keep such missions in the success column even after achieving everything else? Maybe you should rethink the common notion of setting a safe return as a critical mission objective in MB productions. Just leave it as "stay alive" for all missions that you produce. Too bad the sim doesn't allow continuations or mission success after good crash landings with everything else accomplished -- "It's gonna blow!" :pop4:

bearcat241, the sim does allow that, but your mission has to have the red "front" line installed in MB and you have to be on the Allied side of the red line.

In the case of the Bong mission, I built it to be as accurate as possible to the real mission Bong flew.
He made it back to base on one engine.

:encouragement:

Well I usually leave staying alive as only official objective in my missions.A ditching or bailing out in friendly territory is a success in some ways, especially after five kills.Problem was without being able to feather prop, other engine burned up trying to stay airborne, had to ditch in enemy territory.Have flown a similiar mission since, with being able to feather prop, I was able to make it to friendly airfield and make emergency landing.

:encouragement: gotcha...

devildog73, i think you missed the inference of my "It's gonna blow!" quip. I take it that you've never had to deal with that one after a good crash landing?

dasuto,

Here are the replacement files for the P-38j.

the switches are not in a historical location. I placed them next to the RPM gauges. All entries are in the air and cfg files. to save space I only included the replacement files.

let me know if everything works correctly.

Bloodhawk. How do you add this exactly? Section 1509 in airfile yes? Always shows up unknown when I open it view aired, if its even there.I need to add this to the TR B-25 strafers, as they are mostly likely need to feather a prop due to flying low with all the AA fire.
