We need Teams of members to help us restore the file library to this server. I would prefer to tackle this with members from each forum section.

The new file library has the same structure as the old library. One for one we need to download the files and then upload them here. I almost have a document done to show you how to upload files here. I need to know who will be helping us so I can get permissions set correctly. Once the file is uploaded you will change the file owner to the original member who uploaded it.

Once it is uploaded here I want to remove it from the old library.

All covered in the document I think... Still writing it

And on another note uploads at our old server are shut off. Upload all new files to this server. The resources section is actually pretty cool.

Please reply to this thread with your intention to help and which section you will help with.

Not sure about "again" in my case, but seems like a good start! 😉

Give me a little bit since I still have some stuff at home to take care of this weekend, but I should have most of my stuff "up-and-over" by the end of the weekend. I can see about some other FS9 stuff in general as well.

Since we'd be doing the upload under our own sing-in, I'm guessing the "legacy" stuff from those who "went west" would be the stuff to start with to make sure it doesn't get left behind, correct?

I have volunteered to process all of Warwick Carter’s files that were posted here under the usernames wozza and AU-Mav. There are 3 files currently under each username.

I have downloaded a copy of each file, copied the “file name” text next to the DOWNLOAD button, copied the text in each file entry (including the allocated library categories) and the “submitted by” text (including the keywords), and copied the photo where there is one.

I plan to upload each file to the new resources, adding the information which I copied as appropriate and necessary, and correcting any errors that I find in the allocated categories.

I would delete each file from the old library after checking and re-allocating the uploader name if I had any idea how to do that. In these cases, I will make the new name “wozza” for all 6 files.
 
I have uploaded 7 files today - 6 that were created by Wozza originally plus 1 created by ChrisN originally that I had to re-upload last year.

All are still in the old library. All are awaitng approval as new resources.
 
I'm going to be working on the CFS2 files as a whole, not focusing on specific authors. Going from earlies to latest files.

Dave I sent you a PM with some questions.
 
Hi Dave, i was just going to do my stuff, but it be easier all round if i did all FS2004 scenery, 400 file by July, i think i can handle that

I've spent a lot of time today moving your FSX files Ian, all moved without issue so far! I can see from the next page that you have a lot more to go yet too!

I'll give a shot to the effects in the FS2004 section. Not much by way of files, but with family stuff going on I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. I think there's 18 files or so, so it should be about a day or two for me with my workload at home.

I have sent it out in a conversation (formerally known as a PM) There are a group of us working the Library right now. over 700 files have been uploaded todate. If you would like to join us let me know what core section you would like to work on and I will assign you a category.
