Finally getting the hang of this repainting thing.

Nice!!! Good looking airplane. It is a good feeling to get it the way you like.
 
general tip for repainting is to not lose pure black or pure white as you tend to drown out the details, apart from that tiny little nitpick.... fantastic work :salute:
 
Thanks for the positive comments makes a rookie painter feel good. Took your advice and tried a not quite so black tone but it just didn't look right more of a dark gray so I will keep playing around with it.
Here is an updated shot with some weathering tail numbers and a shot of the real plane see if you can tell them apart LOL!
 
Just up loaded the final version. Thanks Smoothie for the tip I finally found a trade off between the black and gray that looked right. Hope the P-38 fans like it.
 
great job, can see how i mean by it doesn't blot out the details as much, nice work, drinks on me in the outhouse mess :ernae:
